Lousy Robot

Back by Popular Dismay

After a long, strange week in Dallas, we’re back with a new record. We hope that you love it as much as we loved putting it together.

Highlights of the trip included:

— A heated debate over whether the new record should be marketed as a workout video soundtrack.

— The Dallas Observer Music Awards where Salim won Best Producer.

— Anything involving Lone Star Beer.

— The DOMA After-Party. (Or so we’re told.)

— Several complete physical and/or mental meltdowns.

— Daniel Miller and KatieMac

— The Old Monk

We’ll be at Low Spirits on Thursday, August 5, with Shoulder Voices and Leiahdorus. Come down and hang out. We’d love to see you.

Music, Mayhem, Broads, Guns, Voodoo & a Blood Sacrifice or I Blame the Drugs

Paying attention? Good. Things are busy as usual in the Lousy Robot camp. In addition to the usual juvenile debauchery, there are lots of shows coming up including a Sunday, May 16, extravaganza opening for Red Elvises at Launchpad. Don’t miss it. Not even on a school night. Tickets available here.

Other not-to-be-missed shows include:

May 21 at Burt’s Tiki Lounge
June 3 at Low Spirits
June 19, Jim Phillips Acoustic Set at Low Spirits

Plenty of opportunities for you to come out and buy us a drink or five. So lock up your daughters and head on out to the Freak Show. We’ve missed you terribly. And we bring the rock.

Hello to our wild-eyed friends and associates:

We’re Lousy Robot. And we’re in Show Business. Right now that business for us is a breathless excitement at the pending completion of our latest recording, The Last Postcard From The Chateau Marmont. We are nearing the final stages and hope to start the launch sequence in a few weeks. We have dedicated ourselves to making this record something that you were not expecting, while maintaining that Lousy Robot feeling that we have in our hearts. Plus some really special guests!

In the meantime, we are adding many of the new songs to the live set. You can come and check them out next Saturday, February 20, at Burt’s Tiki Lounge. We’ll be appearing with Bella Novella and The Soft Hands and we’ll be rocking songs off the new record as well as some old favorites. It’s gonna be a good time.

So, until then … be honest. Be good. Get big. And wear glasses if you need ‘em.

xoxoxo

Plowing through the winter.

We have sent off 2 more songs for mixing since we last talked. Bringing our total to 9. But never fear, we are 80% done with another one. I really think this is a departure from our usual sound, but then you all will have to be the judge. I really hope to have this thing in the final process no later then March. But its hard to say right now. But rest assured we will keep you posted on the way things are progressing.
