After a long, strange week in Dallas, we’re back with a new record. We hope that you love it as much as we loved putting it together.

Highlights of the trip included:

— A heated debate over whether the new record should be marketed as a workout video soundtrack.

— The Dallas Observer Music Awards where Salim won Best Producer.

— Anything involving Lone Star Beer.

— The DOMA After-Party. (Or so we’re told.)

— Several complete physical and/or mental meltdowns.

— Daniel Miller and KatieMac

— The Old Monk

We’ll be at Low Spirits on Thursday, August 5, with Shoulder Voices and Leiahdorus. Come down and hang out. We’d love to see you.

Daniel Berg just happened to catch the last few songs of our set at Burt’s (5.21.10) on film. He posted this on You Tube and we could not be more happy.

Its the a song from the next record as well as the theme song for The Scare Game.

Paying attention? Good. Things are busy as usual in the Lousy Robot camp. In addition to the usual juvenile debauchery, there are lots of shows coming up including a Sunday, May 16, extravaganza opening for Red Elvises at Launchpad. Don’t miss it. We’re Lousy Robot. And we’re in Show Business. Right now that business for us is a breathless excitement at the pending completion of our latest recording, The Last Postcard From The Chateau Marmont. We are nearing the final stages and hope to start the launch sequence in a few weeks. We have dedicated ourselves to making this record something that you were not expecting, while maintaining that Lousy Robot feeling that we have in our hearts. Plus some really special guests!

In the meantime, we are adding many of the new songs to the live set. You can come and check them out next Saturday, February 20, at Burt’s Tiki Lounge. We’ll be appearing with Bella Novella and The Soft Hands and we’ll be rocking songs off the new record as well as some old favorites. It’s gonna be a good time.

So, until then … be honest. Be good. Get big. And wear glasses if you need ‘em.

We have sent off 2 more songs for mixing since we last talked. Bringing our total to 9. But never fear, we are 80% done with another one. I really think this is a departure from our usual sound, but then you all will have to be the judge. I really hope to have this thing in the final process no later then March. But its hard to say right now. But rest assured we will keep you posted on the way things are progressing.

Yesterday at lunch I was watching Extreme Restaurants when a Lousy Robot song came on in the background. Hey all, sorry for the long break between posts. But the news of the day is that Cross My Heart & Hope You Die* is complete and off to be in the movies. We were honnored when our friends at Uncanny Entertainment. (Responsible for the Perfectly Confused video) asked us to pen a song for them. Right now its one of favorites and will also appear on our upcoming album. But enough about us…go check out the web series.

Tuesday we put the final tweaks on the song Cross My Heart & Hope You Die for “The Scare Game”. (hit the link to learn more)

Our friends over at Uncanny Entertainment asked us to pen a song to go along with their new web series they are putting together. We could not have been more excited. We are really happy with this one. We think it not only captures our creepy and scary side but stays true to our pop loving selves.

We will start the recording process on this one this weekend and hope to have it done quickly. We are already behind as it is, because if you read the link above you will see that they have already finished filming the first episode!

Keep an eye out on the ol’ twitter account because we might share a sneak peak if things turn out well.
